The final day in Budapest included the trip that I'd been looking forward to for about a month--Statue Park. After the fall of communism, many countries destroyed the statues that had been erected in their cities in honor of communist leaders and ideals. However, in Budapest, they just moved them to a park slightly outside of the city and made them into a tourist attraction. Pretty cool. So, Katie and I hopped on the bus and went out to the park. Overall, it was a fairly comical experience, as the park basically just has a muddy circular path around which the statues are located. They also showed a video that was the training video for the Hungarian secret police, which was really awesome to see.
After Statue Park, we headed back over to the area around Heroes' Square to explore more than we'd been able to the day before. There was a thermal bath nearby where we poked our heads into the lobby, and then we wandered around what seemed to be their equivalent of Central Park before getting some hot wine and watching ice skating. The night ended, of course, with our traditional evening drink--Czech beer this time! The next morning we headed back to Prague fairly exhausted. I'm pretty sure this is one of the best trips I've ever been on!

When we saw this from a distance, Katie jokingly said, "Hey! When did Ronald Reagan get here?" When we got closer, we realized that it is in fact a bust of Reagan just randomly in the park in Budapest. Who knew?
